About SMF Micro services Association

SMF Micro Services Association is incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act of 2013. Its primary goal is to provide access to the credit to economically disadvantaged people who are unable to get loans from traditional financial institutions. After completing the relevant paperwork and implementing the necessary systems and procedures, the company shall begin lending operations on August 1, 2023. The SMF Micro Services Association is based in Gujarat's Rajkot District. A team of experienced directors and senior management employees with expertise in banking, microfinance, social sectors, finance, and technology leads the organisation. Their knowledge and experience steer the organisation at the highest level, and they strive to establish a reproducible model for others to follow. The SMF Micro Services Association places a premium on transparency. They maintain high levels of transparency in their operations, ensuring that all processes and procedures are clearly defined and scrupulously followed. The business approach of the association is centred on providing financial services to its members in rural regions for livelihood activities. Agriculture, associated agricultural operations, and very small companies are among the activities supported by the Joint Liability Group (JLG) models. SMF Micro Services Association strictly complies with the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). As an NBFC-MFI (non-banking financial company-microfinance institution), they adhere to the RBI guidelines applicable to their sector. By following these guidelines, the association ensures that its operations are conducted within the regulatory framework set by the central bank. Overall, the SMF Micro Services Association aims to provide accessible and transparent financial services to the underserved population, following best practises and regulatory requirements in the microfinance sector.

Objectives of SMF Micro services Association

The SMF Micro services Association has several objectives aimed at promoting the livelihoods of its members, particularly those who are poor or marginalized. These objectives include.

  • 1. Promoting livelihood strategies: The SMF recognizes varying challenges of families and requirement of credit based on the need. The company provides 3 needs based loan products to its customer /borrowers.
  • 2. Upgrading skills: The SMF provides training and support to its customers / borrowers to upgrade their skills, making them more efficient and self dependent.
  • 3. Working with the poor: The SMF seeks to make the poor bankable by providing them with access to credit and other financial services.
  • 4. Reinforcing efforts to rise above the poverty line: The SMF aims to support its customers /borrowers in their efforts to rise and remain above the poverty line
  • 5. Women empowerment: The SMF places a strong emphasis on women's empowerment, recognizing that this is crucial for their economic, social, and health development. The SMF shall have 100% women and married borrowers.
